Description

The Design of Rainwater Underground Storage Facilities in 11 Cities of Punjab was undertaken under the Punjab Cities Program (PCP) by PMDFC to promote sustainable urban water management and mitigate the growing challenges of urban flooding and water scarcity. Spanning key urban centers across Northern Punjab (including Daska, Hafizabad, Jhelum, Kamoke, Muridke, and Wazirabad) and Central Punjab (Gojra, Jaranwala, Jhang, Kamalia, and Okara), the project sought to design efficient systems for the collection, storage, and reuse of stormwater. With a total cost of PKR 35.39 million and completion in January 2024, our consultancy provided a comprehensive suite of services—from topographic surveys, feasibility studies, and geotechnical investigations to detailed engineering design, cost estimation, and environmental impact assessments. The project contributes significantly to urban sustainability by integrating climate-resilient infrastructure and optimizing rainwater utilization across multiple cities in Punjab.
